POWERS: Superhuman abilities. Consummate athlete and swordswoman. Lys fights with two energy blades which she makes appear in her hands out of thin air. When Cendrine turns into Lys, a black fleur-de-lys appears over her right eye. BIOGRAPHY: Cendrine owns a prestigious winery château in the Bordeaux area of France, and produces expensive wines. She is the descendent of 17th century swashbuckler Lucas de Merignan -- the original Black Lys. She recently returned to fight the Strangers. Lucas de Merignan was trained by the mysterious Altotas. He, too, wore a black fleur-de-lys, but tattoed over his heart. In 1695, Lucas and his friend, the burly Tranchelard, lived the life of the corsairs. They fought the daring and beautiful female vampire pirate Scarlet Lips (once Dragut's lover). Eventually, Lucas ended up Governor of the French island colony of St. Pierre, after killing the man who had murdered his father and marrying his fiancée, Louiselle de Signac.
